Filmmaker James Allen Smith spent several years documenting the lives of his eccentric parents, whose age and poor health have begun to threaten the daily set of routines and activities they enjoy in and around their New England family home. An intimate cinematic family album, My Name Is Smith ultimately reveals a touching love story like no other you’ve seen before.
In keeping with the intimate story and paying homage to the unique characters that are the Smiths, we illustrated the cover graphic of the family, focusing on the family members and giving the film title prime real estate. Typography remained clean and tight, and the postcard was cropped with rounded edges, distinguishing it among the many other entries at film festivals like Austin’s and the Big Sky Documentary Film Fest.
