The William Traver Gallery is a fine arts gallery of international acclaim that specializes in contemporary studio glass and NW art with a roster of luminaries like Preston Singletary, Chihuly, and Lino Tagliapietra.
This project involved development of a system of collateral (direct mail, print and web advertisements, postcards, and exhibition poster signage). While the Gallery hosts a range of media (glass, painting, sculpture, multi-media), the high quality photography of the innovative and visually compelling pieces became a focal point of the system. This, along with a non-standard grid, framed the works, engaging viewers (and importantly, patrons) with cropped or full images, whichever best showcased the nature of the work. Complimenting the simple vantage point of the image was minimalism of the text, where only essential data about that month’s featured artist and exhibition were included, using whitespace as an active design element.
