Nordstrom is a business that finds innovative ways to serve their consumers. By owning its own federal savings bank, Nordstrom offers a private label card, two co-branded Nordstrom VISA credit cards and a debit card for Nordstrom purchases. These card services are integrated with a customer loyalty program that incentivizes and rewards customers for shopping there.
The development of the Nordstrom Bank application was a collaborative exercise. With multiple internal stakeholders with different agendas (legal, credit marketing, and Bank VP’s), we established a hierarchy of information, thereby defining the revision cycle and approval process. What resulted was an engaging design package that attracted customers, expanded the consumer relationship into an ongoing financial one, and made clear the company’s liability and obligations.
